Couperin, Francois

Francois Couperin(1668-1733), French composer, organist and harpsichordist, son of a prominent musical family in Paris, his early music instruction came from his father and also from Louis and later from royal organist Jacques Thomelin. He was apointed as organist for the royal chapel and chamber musician for the court and the duke of Burgundy. He composed vocal music and harpsichord and organ music.
