Cherubini, Luigi

Luigi Cherubini(1760-1842), Italian composer, studied music with his father, went to Paris, settled there and began as an opera composer, in 1784-86, he was appointed as composer to the King's theater, London; 1786 settled in Paris. In 1789-92, he was the music director of an Italian Opera Company, and in 1793,  appointed as director of new Institute National de Musique, his operas were popular in Germany. He composed operas, orchestral music and sacred music.
